DEPRESSED? STRESSED? FEELING 'STUCK'? WANTING TO CHANGE?
Psychotherapy offers you a safe, confidential space to look at issues that are troubling you.You can meet regularly with a professionally trained therapist who will listen to your concerns and help you to look at underlying patterns or issues in your life.
Sometimes the past has a way of influencing our present in an uncomfortable way and leaves us feeling 'out of control'. In therapy you will be able to take some time for yourself, with an empathic listener, and be able to explore your inner world by talking about your emotions, experiences, memories and dreams. An increased awareness of the effect of these on our development and our individuality can enable us to feel more in control of the present and where we are going in life.
Bobbi Whitcombe, our experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, undertook a four-year training in person-centred and psychodynamic psychotherapy, followed by a further Cambridge University Diploma and an M.A. in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies.
Bobbi comments:
'I have worked with adults and with children, in short- and long-term work, in various environments, including a non-profit-making agency in Norwich. As a person-centred psychodynamic therapist I am non-judgmental and empathic and my Jungian approach also enables me to offer a deeper exploration of the unconscious, symbolic life of the individual. Jung uses the term 'individuation', which means a person's becoming truly themselves, finding the truth of their inner spirit, and I aim to help this process by working with people through dreams, myth and symbol where appropriate.
I suggest people come for an initial consultation and, if they feel they want to work in this way, they should think in terms of weekly sessions for an agreed period of time.'
