Herbal Medicine

Medical Herbalists
treat a wide range of medical conditions, such as:

asthma and emphysema, hay fever, gynaecological and menopausal complaints, high blood pressure, prostate problems, arthritis, irritable bowel, diverticulitis, skin complaints, stress, depression and anxiety, migraines, varicose veins, headaches and many more.

Hilary Holden, our Medical Herbalist, undertook a four year degree in Herbal Medicine and uses plant based medicines. These will be made up individually for each patient following an in depth consultation, and tailored to each patients specific needs.

Hilary's comment

"Being a medical herbalist combines so many things for me. A love of people, healing, the natural world, and gardening come together in the practice of herbal medicine. My whole career has been spent in healthcare, as a nurse and health visitor, but being a herbalist has been the most satisfying of all. The opportunity to spend good quality time with patients, looking together at their main health issues, thus getting to the root of the problem, is highly rewarding.

Herbal medicine is an old fashioned medicine, the medicine people have used throughout time to keep themselves well, and treat their illnesses. At its simplest, it's honey and lemon for a cold and everyone has had that! There's really nothing weird or new about it
