Nutritional Therapy

A Nutritional Consultation can be seen as an education. A journey, taken at the speed the client feels comfortable, through their lifestyle helping them to make the necessary changes and discoveries about the way they are eating and living their lives to bring them back to health.

Nutritional therapy is particularly useful if the clients problem is based around their digestive system. For instance, IBS, constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion or strange symptoms that appear soon after eating that may be unidentified food intolerances. Other ailments that people often consult me about are fatigue (chronic and general), hormonal imbalances, weight loss, skin problems, cardiovascular disease, mental health problems and help in preparing for a healthy pregnancy.

Nutritional therapy is very useful in conjunction with other therapies, indeed it can be considered a foundation. It is what we eat that makes our bodies and supports our health. If a person cannot hold an osteopathic manipulation then it may be time to wonder if an underlying food intolerance or shortage of a particular mineral is putting the surrounding muscles into spasm. If a person wants to address an underlying mental issue through counselling it may help their treatment to be eating a healthy diet and be free from any food related mental fogginess, irritability or lack of patience that could hinder the process of counselling.

Rachel offers many biochemical tests carried out at various laboratories. These include hair mineral analysis to determine a person’s mineral reserves – particularly useful in pre-conceptual care or infertility problems. Also offered are hormonal analysis, stool analysis, liver assessment tests and many others that can take the guess work out of diagnosis. Further details of these can be seen at the website www.healthanalysiscentre.co.uk

Initial appointments are for up to 1¼ hours and cost £65. Subsequent appointments are usually ½ hour and take place after a month. These cost £40 and the average number of appointments is three but obviously this will depend on the individual’s health problem.

I now offer a free service – a 15 minute Free Health Check using iridology. Iridology is a method whereby the practitioner can tell by looking at the markings of the eye the condition of various organs of the body, and the general strength of the person’s constitution. This 15 minute session allows a possible client to see if they feel they could work with me and if what I have to offer them is appropriate to their needs.
